Checking In
Students arriving after the school day has begun must check in at the front office before going to class. When checking in, students need to provide one of the following:
A note or phone call from a parent indicating awareness of the late arrival and the reason (personal or illness).
A properly documented note from a doctor’s office excusing the absence. Alternatively, a physician can fax the doctor’s note to 817-515-6766.
Important: Without one of these two documents or a phone call, the absence will be considered unexcused.
Parents do not need to accompany their student into the building if the student has a parent/doctor's note or if the attendance office has been notified by phone of the late arrival.
Checking Out
The Attendance Office will not dismiss a student until parent contact has been made either by a parent note or a parent phone call in the morning. The parent note must include the following:
Student's first and last name
Time of dismissal (not the time of the appointment)
Reason for dismissal (personal or illness)
Parent's signature and phone number
Parents do not need to come into the school to check out their student if a note for dismissal has been sent or a call has been made in advance requesting dismissal.
If you choose to come to school to check out your student, please allow sufficient time for us to locate them. It can take 15-20 minutes to locate students, especially if they are on the TCC campus, in a college class, at soccer, or during lunch and tutorials. To avoid waiting, consider sending a note with your student in the morning requesting early dismissal. This will help us prepare and minimize the time spent locating your student.
