I began my career as an educator in the Arlington ISD as an English teacher at Nichols Junior High. I then served for 11 years in GCISD as a teacher at both Heritage Middle School and Colleyville Heritage High School before moving to New York City. I served as a teacher, then assistant principal at the Jill Chaifetz Transfer High School in the south Bronx. I returned to GCISD as an assistant principal in 2012, left to serve as a secondary principal in Irving ISD and then returned to GCISD to open Collegiate Academy at TCC Northeast in the fall of 2014.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English from University of Texas at Arlington and my Master of Science in Urban Schools Building Leadership from Lehman College City University of New York City. In 2010, I received the Aspiring Educational Leader Award from City of New York Lehman College’s Division of Education.
